Becothings is proud to announce that we have been selected to go through to the semi-final stage of the HSBC Start-up Stars awards. Just sixty businesses have been selected to go through to the semi-finals, from thousands of applicants across the whole of the UK. Reaching the semi-finals has give us a real buzz! Twenty-five of the 60 will be selected to go forward to the national final. So hopefully the Beco products will keep impressing and we can reach that final!

today, july 10th 2009, is the first annual green britain day! launched by london 2012 olympics sustainability partner edf energy, green britain day is all about showing the world how britain is at the forefront of the campaign against climate change. if everyone does their bit, when the olympic arrives in london in 2012, britian will be a cleaner, greener country. the day is run in association with the eden project who are holding a special concert featuring the legendary paul weller and the amazing florence and the machine!

everyone is invited to join team green britain and do something green… maybe it’s walking to work, starting your own fruit and veg patch, throwing a bring-and-swap party or buying some becohangers! there are lots of ways you can get involved and do your bit for the environment and team green britain. plus as a member of team green britain, you’ll get the opportunity to win a day at the london 2012 games! check out www.teamgreenbritain.org for more information on how to get involved.

Hello everybody, my name is Lucy and I’m the latest bird to join the beco family!

I have just graduated from Brunel University and have come to help the design team at becothings. I will be taking on tasks from designing exciting new products to helping our growing number of customers.

I would probably describe myself as chatty as well as extremely colourful and fun. I’m always flying around always looking for the latest eco products… and of course, as a parrot I’ve got loads of party tricks!
